Accessing legacy email (Onetel)

I have a rarely accessed Onetel account, which was ported over to TalkTalk when they made one of their acquisitions. I cannot access that account, which is causing me. Major headaches.

1. I have a connected social media account that wishes to security check by sending an email to the Onetel address that they still have, and in not being able to access that Onetel account, I cannot change the email address on the other account so going round an eternal effing frustrating loop. 
2. I wish to check for any other similar email links and change them.

3. Finally, I want to close that account so that it is no longer accessible and receiving C***. 

Would be very grateful if anyone can advise me how to get out of this loop, and get to talk. Talk to  err … talk to me! 😡

When TalkTalk upgraded your onetel email account to the TalkTalk Mail platform did you sign in to TalkTalk Mail webmail  and set up password recovery (Reset details) options?

The Reset password now button in the help article  Changing your email password will take you to password reset and recovery. 

If the email address is still active on the TalkTalk Mail platform and you have set up password recovery options, in advance, that you recognise from the *****hints, then you can send your alternate email address a link or your mobile a 6-digit code to authorise a password reset.

If you see only the option of sending a reset to the onetel mailbox then there's no recovery options saved so I'll need to alert TalkTalk Support for you so those can be set up. Let me know and I'll post further details.
