Default talktalk email address?

I'm trying to help my mum set up email addresses but her myaccount email/password is not recognised by mailbox manager - it gives a "The username or password is incorrect." pop-up.  Her myaccount email is a non-talktalk one - might that be the problem? (the email/password works perfectly fine for myaccount, viewing bills etc.) Would she have an unused default email @talktalk.net that she could/should use for talktalk mail? (she is a talktalk full fibre customer).

Can you ask your mum to post on the community in her own right, @PaulMcM?

There's a limit to the information Talktalk staff can give to someone who is not the account holder.

To facilitate this sort of help, it's worth becoming a nominated user for your mum's account or actually have Power of Attorney.

I'd still like to know if mum has a default talktalk email address thanks - I don't remember us ever getting anything when we switched to talktalk broadband (albeit that was some years ago now)

Hi there PaulMcM. I am to hear that you feel this way, just to confirm is there anything else you need us to assist you with for now?

Thanks for responding @Gliwmaeden2 - That's probably good advice as the recent changes are hardly encouraging.

Usually it's set up when you first join Talktalk, @PaulMcM, and used to be stored automatically in My Account. It didn't have to to be used though and it's now discouraged for setting up for signing into My Account.

You are honestly better steering her in the direction of non Talktalk addresses altogether and keep all of that separate from Talktalk as if she ever leaves Talktalk she'll have to start paying specially for full access to old email addresses, now run by Everymail.

Now is NOT the time to try to set anything up with Talktalk email as the system is undergoing changes  - no knowing how long it will take to iron out the wrinkles.

OK - How do we find out what mum's talk talk email address is? - We have never used that or been aware it exists

If you are trying to access Mail Manager ( https://apps.talktalk.co.uk/myaccount/#/login ) you use your TalkTalk email address, not you my account credentials.

Mail is no longer managed via My Account.
