The newest TalkTalk Mail update is for the Calendar app.

Is this the update you're referring to?  All Updates information is available via the  Help menu on the header bar (? icon) and the Updates menu item.

If not then which update and what is it that you find particularly useless?

Or are you comparing the no longer supported version 7.8.4 of TalkTalk Mail that was in use between 2018 and 2023 with the newer supported version Version 8.22.0  introduced in July 2023 as version 8.16?
