Ask us about your TalkTalk email account and Webmail.
on 17-06-2025 10:34 PM
Hi,
I received an email about having to pay for my TalkTalk email address as I was no longer a customer.
The email was linked to an account that was closed but we still have a current TalkTalk account. The email address was actually created using this account in the first place then later I associated it with the account that was eventually closed.
However there is no option in the current active TalkTalk account to add the email address to this account. I believe we can have up to 5 email addresses.
Please can you advise.
Regards,
Keith

Very good, @Cbendel
So, your MyAccount is OK. You sign in, using a gmail.com email address
As we all now, there is fault at TalkTalk/Open-Xchange.
There shouldn't be a banner, when you sign in to TalkTalk webmail with the @talktalk.net email address.
Have you done what was previously advised here at TalkTalk Community,
to go to your profile here at the Community website,
and in the private notes field, record your @talktalk.net email address there?
Then send another message here at this thread, advising staff that you have done it?
Staff have been saying that this will have you covered, and your email address will not be deleted, and you will not be charged. I assume after you have done that, you can ignore the red banner.

Hi Billx,
Yes I tried the mailbox manager. I logged in using my @talktalk.net address.
It recognises it and says it is an admin account.
This was my log on account with my account that was closed years ago and is the account that now says I need to subscribe to keep it active.
There are no other email addresses in the mailbox manager.
When I log on to webmail with my talk talk address it now has a red banner at the top to say I need to subscribe to keep the email.
The email used to log onto the account that is currently active is a @gmail.com address.
My @dsl.pipex.com address is still accessible and has no red banner saying I need to subscribe. I have received no communication about this pipex address to say I need to subscribe.
I cannot log into the mailbox manager with this account.

Keith

Hi. @Cbendel
You say, 'I tried the mailbox manager'
Are you saying the new mailbox manager, at https://apps.talktalk.co.uk/myaccount/?#/login , which I referred to above?
If that is the mailbox manager you mean, then when you log into it, how many email addresses do you see there?
What are the domain names of all those email addresses, the part of the email addresses after the '@' ?
(Is the @dsl.pipex.com email address, one of the email addresses showing in this mailbox manager?)
Also, When you log in to MyAccount, what email address do you use? (only the part after the '@')

We’ve previously announced that we’re making some changes to our TalkTalk email product. Part of that change is that our active email users, who are not broadband customers, are being transitioned to sign up to EveryMail, an Open-Xchange (OX) email product. All inactive orphan email users will be deleted soon after this movement.
Before these changes happen, we are sending customer comms in phases to let them know about this and their options, ensuring minimal impact for all.
I'm going to fill in a web form for you hence you have an active account, please confirm your TalkTalk email address for me please. Thanks

Hi Billx,
Yes this is the problem. I tried the mailbox manager. It doesn't recognise the email I have associated with the active TalkTalk account, which has s a gmail address as admin.
It recognises the TalkTalk email address that was associated with my old account which is now closed.
I want to associate the TalkTalk email address with the active account(but not as admin just as another email).
I also have a @dsl.pipex.com email address managed by TalkTalk, which I would like to associate with the active account, but the webmail manager doesn't recognise this either.
Regards,
Keith

You cannot add a new TalkTalk email address, via TalkTalk MyAccount, or otherwise manage TalkTalk email addresses, via TalkTalk MyAccount. That might have been the case a month or two ago. It is no longer.
Please stop giving incorrect information.
To deal with any TalkTalk email address issues, the customer needs to go via, https://apps.talktalk.co.uk/myaccount/?#/login
@siphosethu-TT , are you suggesting that TalkTalk are running 2 different systems to do the same thing?
Bill
Bill you need to change your username to Billx-TT 😉

And yes, you can have an email account alone, I believe that will help too in decreasing the amount you'll have to pay for your email services. You'll have to get in touch with the better value team though for more information. Thanks

Yes, it should allow you to add up to 5 TalkTalk mailboxes, perhaps it must be something to do with the update that was completed. Please bare with me while I investigate. Thanks

1. In my account select menu
2. profile and settings
3. my details and passwords
4. select mailbox
5. you can add another email by clicking the Create a mailbox option.
Hope this will help. Thanks😇

Hi Siphosethu,
I thought that was for changing my password and email address which I don't want to do.
I can't remember seeing an option just to add another email address to associate with the account but I will look again. Thanks.

Keith

Your details should show, and you can just choose if you would like to add an email or change your existing one. Thanks

Hi Angelique,
The email address I received the comms about paying for email is not associated with the cbendel account.
I can't find any way to add/associate emails in my account. Can you tell me where this is?
Also I have an old dsl.pipex.com address that is handled by talktalk. I don't think I've heard anything about this.
Regards,
Keith

You can also add an email address on your account through MyAccount.
