Hi,
Yesterday I found I had 7 unsent messages in my outbox, I checked my settings and eventually they all sent.
I've checked my settings in outlook and since yesterday afternoon am not receiving emails.
I have rechecked the setting but get the error message in Outlook,
'Something went wrong and Outlook couldn't save your account settings please try again'
When I refresh the send/receive I just get the send receive error message.
Luckily I can receive my emails on my iphone.
Can you please help me to start getting them again on my PC?

OK. Something did go wrong. It's a POP3 email account.
So, incoming mail server port is 995
Incoming mail server is mail.talktalk.net
Other than that it's good.
I'm hoping if you make those changes and make sure the outgoing server has the Username (full email address of the POP3 account) and Password to use as the login authentication. The setting 'My outgoing server requires authentication' also needs to be ticked. Was ticked in your screenshots so that's fine.

That's an email account set up in Windows Mail on Windows 10. If you're using Windows Mail then Change mailbox sync settings is what you need.
But you were pretty certain that you were using Outlook...
Just in case I'll give you a screenshot for Windows Mail Sync Options.

Hi,
No other account.
The emails are not showing up in my inbox, and on clicking send/receive, i get the send/receive error message at the bottom of the screen?

When I select email accounts and select the email account, if i double click, I just get the button 'manage', then only the option to either 'change mailbox sync settings' or 'delete this mailbox from the account' ?

Outlook 365 supports secure mail and to update go via the Advanced setup settings of an email profile, as in this example for Windows 10.
At that point on your device you ought to see the Outlook setup to enter the TalkTalk Mail server settings: NB All talktalk domains use the exact same IMAP secure settings.
Supported Outlook 365 settings for IMAP email accounts are:
Account Type | IMAP secure |
Username | Full TalkTalk email address |
Password | TalkTalk email password |
Incoming mail server | mail.talktalk.net |
Incoming Port (IMAP) | 993 |
Incoming Connection Security | SSL/TLS |
Outgoing mail server | smtp.talktalk.net |
Outgoing Port | 587 |
Outgoing Connection Security | STARTTLS |
My Outgoing Server Requires Authentication | Yes |
Authentication Method | Normal Password (Not SPA) |
For a definitive check of settings take screenshots of the incoming and outgoing server settings, image edit to obscure the first part of the email address and upload here using the Camera icon (desktop browser) or Picture icon (mobile browser) above this reply area.
But you should be able to get the settings to save ok and as the mailbox is unrestricted the issue was a stop on sending caused by using port 25 and no security or authentication for the outgoing server.

Hi janestennett, I've checked your mailbox and it's not limited. Is there another mailbox that you need help with?

Just confirm please what version of Outlook you're using and on what computer operating system. It's probably just the way you're trying to enter new settings but I'll help you with a solution when you reply.
