Problems with adding a talktalk account to Outlook etc onto Win11 laptop

I am tearing the few hairs on my head trying to add a talktalk email account to a new laptop with windows 11.  (I had no problems a few weeks ago with another new laptop)

 

Has anyone else had this problem? I have tried using the advice on the talktalk website.

No problem, I am glad that it is resolved now.

From the 29th of March our TalkTalk Community will move to peer-to-peer support and the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. Thank you very much for your offer to help
I have now managed to get a talktalk account onto the latest version of Outlook
The problem was a silly one – as they usually are.
But I was at my wits end having hit pitfalls in initiating Win 11 on a new laptop. I thought that it would be straightforward but not a bit of it.
The primary initiation went OK but the update procedure ended in Win 11 freezing which I found was not a rare occurrence.
I solved that by rebooting and skipping the update, which I was able to carry out later smoothly on shut down.

If this is the new Outlook for Windows, then it is easy. From memory you have to do it via a manual IMAP configuration. I can't check mine right now, but if you are still having problems, let me know and I will help you tomorrow afternoon.
