Hi @Hmc1942

I've given a link below to the Help content for Spoofed email accounts. This tells you much of what you need to know about scammers that will spoof your email sending once they have discovered your email address.

The fact that your friends are getting these emails suggests that either your address book or their address book has been compromised. The action to take is for all of you to check the Sent and Trash folders (as you've done) for evidence of a compromised account. Also important for any mailbox that has been compromised is to remove any Rules that may have been set up to spy on or divert incoming mail messages. Then to scan devices to make sure there is no password capturing virus, trojan or other malware present before finally upgrading the mailbox password.

You cannot stop spoofing. Recipients can view the email header via View Source or view raw email / email header to look at the From: line that gives your email address (although that may be encrypted in base 64 rendering it as an unrecognisable string of characters) and following that is an email address inside chevron brackets <real sending email address> that is the scammer's sending address - although this could be for a genuine user mailbox that's been hacked and hijacked by the scammer.
