Secondary email addresses

Hi, my secondary email addresses have stopped working even though my primary email address is OK!  I have only just noticed this when I checked on the TalkTalk portal, can you investigate for me please.

OK. The workaround is, instead of selecting Edit, select the X delete icon on the right of the row and confirm deletion. That doesn't delete the mailbox but just removes it as an added secondary email account.

 

Then go back to the main Mail screen.

  • Select the settings cog icon top right
  • Select the Add email account menu item
  • Add the email account afresh
    You may be asked to set up manually
    You'll need to use the standard email settings for TalkTalk Mail

Hi, when I tried that it failed with 'internal server error'.

The secondary added email accounts will stop working because the encrypted password is not migrated to the new look platform. It's a simple fix.

 

  • Sign in to the primary email account mailbox in TalkTalk Mail webmail
  • Select the settings cog icon top right
  • Select All settings menu item
  • In the left side of the modal that appears select Accounts
  • Select Edit for the non-working added email account
  • Scroll down and clear the password box and enter the correct password for that added account
    You may need to do that for both incoming and outgoing mail servers
  • Save

All done.
