Using my TalkTalk email address, I cannot open an account in Outlook

Hi, I have a new Mac and cannot open my Talktalk email address. The new Mac does recognise it but the next screen asks if it is a work or school account or personal. Microsoft tell me is was set up as a work/school account. But it is a personal one. 
Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Microsoft are saying it is a Talktalk problem. My gmail account opened perfectly in Outlook on the new Mac. Outlook works perfectly on the old Mac.

Select Outlook > Preferences > Account
Click the plus (+) sign > New Account
Type your email address > Continue
Type your password > Add Account

The account type to add is Other IMAP

Note that it's not a work or school account nor is it one added to Outlook.com.
