Has anything changed regarding email usage on Outlook in the last few days?

Up to last week I had Outlook up and running with both my talktalk and gmail accounts, but since re-installing Windows and Office, no matter what settings I try in Outlook (and Thunderbird, so it's not just Outlook), I cannot get Outlook to add my talktalk account.

I've been on Live Chat with TalkTalk twice who say it's a software problem

I've been on Live chat with Microsoft who say it's a talk talk problem

I can happily add my gmail account so it's not Outlook

I'm setting up a new IMAP account with the settings as per the guidance but all I get is login failed when testing the email.

On new Outlook which I also tried, I got an error message saying something about "CredentialsRequired".  I don't know if that's a clue for anyone.

I can login to webmail quite happily but it's unfamiliar and I would prefer to use Outlook if it can be done

As an aside, I can't get it on my mobile phone either anymore...

Thanks for reading

If I can find out why I'll let you know and get it corrected.

Thaks Ady, although I'm not sure why it would have been restricted in the first place, so that's something to be aware of going forwards

I had the account derestricted yesterday. Your mail should be working normally.

Hi

It was January but Ady seems to have pressed the magic button somewhere as all my emails are now safely back in Outlook, so a big thank you for that

When did you last pay the £50, @Langsdorf?

It could be a billing / account error rather than an email fault.

But the £50 pa account is the Mail Plus account so could that be where the problem is?

I do have that account but you think I don't as per the screenshot

I wasn't sure what package I have but according to the screenshot, I don't have either of the ones you mentioned

My account is one where I pay £50 a year to keep my email address, if you know that one

Hi Ady

Thanks for that but that was something we tried several times yesterday, both with the Talk Talk and Microsoft Live Chat agents.

I can do it again but will that work if we already tried?

Are you currently signed up for a TalkTalk package either MailPlus or a Broadband Package? If not your account will get limited again. If you are I've had it unlimited and you'll find its working now.

Hi Langsdorf, that sounds very much like your account has been limited. Please reset your current password and I'll then be able to get your account unlimited if it has been.
