Anybody any idea why some of my emails have started being labelled as spam when I am sending them to contacts I have been using for years.

I have the same issue! It's only my talktalk email that's affected.

@Bodger3 some customers have confirmed that the issue still persists, please keep a lookout on the forum for updates.

I don't know as I am trying to contact my wife's old friends to tell them about her death and some are international, others I don't have another way to contact them.

This is a known issue affecting hotmail and gmail recipients

 

Microsoft and Google are looking into this and working with the TalkTalk email team to resolve.

 

You are in the staff's queue for a response and so they can add your details to the affected list and for a quicker reply can you please ensure you have your personal information up to date in your profile including your TalkTalk landline phone number so your account can be traced. If you are unsure of your phone number, you can find this in My Account or dial 17070 from your landline phone and this will confirm the number for you.
You can also add your account number in the private notes field, which only you and the support staff can view.
