scam emails

I have been receiving 2 or 3 emails a day saying they're from TalkTalk asking me to verify my account, that older versions of Mailbox emails are being disconnected, that I need to update as I'm using an out-of-date version of an email application etc. & asking me to click a link. I haven't clicked, have treated them as scams & blocked the sender. But they keep coming. And I have been having some difficulty sending emails from my phone, though not in receiving them.

Are they all scams & can I stop them? Is the problem on my phone just coincidence?

Any help gratefully received.

@GBy123 please stick to your own thread as, ironically, posting on other people's threads is seen as spam under forum guidelines.

Same here - been going on for weeks (seems to be after I was put onto New Outlook).   Now have about 6 a day from a variety of strange addresses - addressed to to two random recipients...      I have reported as phishing, put into junk, deleted and everything but definitely not clicked anything.    Absolutely fed up with them and concerned there has been some sort of data breach.

Is this still happening? I've checked the systems and there's nothing to suggest you should have problems with sending in mail clients.

It’s just from my phone. Webmail seems to be OK.

Hi hiltennis, can you send from TalkTalk webmail or is that the problem you're having on your phone?

Thanks for this. No I haven't clicked on any links, I think the issue on the phone is a separate matter. I just wish TalkTalk would sort something out so that I don't keep getting so many. I shall keep reporting them as phishing & hope something can be done!

Hi,

It's a scam.

If you hover over the senders details it's also unlikely to be a TalkTalk email address.

Whatever you do, do not click on any links as this could compromise you account.

Have you perhaps already clicked on a link? If so this may be linked to your issue sending mail. In which case change your password and run a scan using whatever software you use on the phone to check your malware.

TalkTalk have requested that spam mail be reported to them.
How to do this can be found here

Thank you.
