Dreadful connection for a week

Hi, my download seems fine. Firestick been struggling for ages.

Download is full speed fibre 65 (about 52 meg for me)

Upload on any site either fails or is kps or really low.

I have 2 to link routers (can't disable bold for some reason) and the talktalk sagecom router.

Same on all three. It's also the same on any device.

I have a wired gaming pc, laptop and my mobile. Phone line is really crackling too.

I tried new filters. It's actually a new cable (3 years) from pole to house and socket.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Morning,

I'm sorry for the delay. If this is still happening when connected wired at the test socket with 2 different routers then the next step will be to arrange an engineer visit to the property to investigate further.

Thanks

Sorry, I misread that. I have routers I don't have any other phones. And I am not going to buy one as it won't fix my broadband or let me work tomorrow.

Pretty sure it's no worse than it's ever been.

And the fact I have tried new: cables, all. Routers, 3 . Filters, 3 in test socket and without, I only have the master socket. It must be external I would have thought?

Can't think of anything left to try.

I just did another hour long pause and power cycle. Still exactly the same.😕

`OK thanks. Do you have another telephone that you can test with, to check if the noise is still there? Noise on the line can cause problems with the broadband service.

Hi Chris.

Yeah. I have loads. I did try the sagecom router that's you guys sent.

Exactly the same. (+ Test socket)

Tried new filters too but think these are for the phone?

Does seem like something outside is slowly dying.

If it wasn't for the fact my neighbour has the same despite having a different line to the pole?

I did all the usual troubleshoot stuff before. Rebuild network stack.

When I can load speed test the downstream is 52 meg I only get an error on the upstream now it was trying this morning just times out now.

The diagnostic:

Test xDSL sync pass.

Test WAN connection pass.

Network connection status inspect (ncsi) failed

If problem persists please contact ISP.

I'm still watching YouTube! But can't load any other website and weather apps etc all state no connection.

Hope that helps.

Speaking with neighbour. This does seem to have gradually degenerated to this state. It's not absolutely constant but I can't load anything now the no connection icon on desktop comes and goes.

Either router says no connection but there is (sort of)

I'm typing these on my mobile data on phone. I can't get your website on pc, laptop or this phone on WiFi.

Connection has been rock solid for years. Those downstream errors started (mainly at midnight) on Friday the 3rd if that helps at all.

When this started I would try speed test. But I never waited for the upstream.

Then last night I couldn't even open gmails on my phone (WiFi) been like this ever since.

Thanks

It is now. I just tried cloud flair DNS and it's the same .

Everything just times out. Once on the webpage cookies exchanged it's ok.

Around. I can't get any upload speeds at all it just times out 😕

I've checked the real time data on the Openreach website and your upstream looks fine, there are periods of very high errors on the downstream though. Is your router currently connected to your test socket?

Left off for 40 minutes. Still the same downstream fine upstream nothing.

Strange.

I've had similar in the past that just fix themselves. I hope and pray this works tomorrow or I can't work.

Thanks for trying anyway

I'll try that. (Same in test socket)

We're two flats above shops. But have different lines. Mine was replaced a few years ago.

I'll try the long disconnect.

Hi Stratoc,

Did you try the 30 minute switch off? This forces the start of a new session and does resolve a lot of problems.

Is there anything else I can try?

I tried the talktalk router and that's exactly the same..

On my PC that's is currently displaying the no internet connection access icon with a video playing?

I connected my phone and laptop to the WiFi on talktalk router and they connect immediately but display no internet or limited internet for ages them the same. Speed test 51 down and total fail on the upload.

I work from home (took today off) I suppose I could hotspot maybe?

Can this get reported? My next door neighbor's in the same boat! He's with talktalk too and uses the sagecom router you guys supplied.

Thanks

Hi Stratoc

Ok, thanks for confirming.

If you connect the Sagemcom hub directly at the test socket do you experience the same fault?

Can you power down the router for a full 30 minutes and then test again?
