Fibre 65 Running At 4mbps????

As the subject says.  We noticed an engineer in the lampost outside our house, and ever since our Fibre 65 is really really poor (could be a coincidence mind).  Connection is poor on any and all household devices connected to it.  I have tried splitting the connection and it is no better on 5g or 2.4g, nor is it any better upon trying different channels. :o(

Any advice would be great.

I now have a dial tone on the house but can't hear speaking nor can my speaking be heard back, where as previously I didn't even get a dial tone.

Thanks

Morning,

Thanks for confirming. I've re-run the line test now which is now detecting a potential fault. Can I just confirm, is there currently any noise on the voice service? If the voice service is ok then I'll re-raise this as a broadband fault to Openreach again.

Thanks

It has been up and down quite a lot since the engineer was out.  Definitely faster but fluctuating greatly yet🤞🤞🤞

Just checking back in to see how you're getting on?

Hi slwukuk

Openreach have now closed the fault. Is everything working ok now?

Thanks

Hi slwukuk

The fault is now showing as assigned to a line engineer this morning, we should hopefully have further updates later this afternoon.

Thanks

Debbie

No problem, yes it's always worth having one hanging around for testing purposes 🙂

No problem. I've raised it as a non-appointed task so Openreach will investigate over the next 72 hours and may contact you directly if they need to access your home

There was a noise, but it didn't sound like a dial tone at all.

Thanks for trying this, is the line completely dead, no dial tone?

Borrowed a phone and it isn't working in either port I can plug it into (that's including the one where I needed to remove the screws/cover).  No incoming or outgoing calls could be made.

Hi slwukuk,

Is there any way that you could borrow one from a friend or family member, just to test with?

Hi slwukuk

I'm really sorry to hear this.

The line tests have detected a potential fault with the landline service.

Do you have a phone connected? Is the landline working ok?

Thanks

Debbie
