Fibre65 Router Issues

I am running the following:

HW Version: FAST5364 3.00
SW Version: SG4K100208
GUI Version: 5.100.5

I am having huge issues with the admin console. I work in Cyber Security so I know my way around a router console but the current software version is terrible.

Some of my issues are as follows:

  • DHCP lease table is empty despite having over 20 connected devices.
  • Console randomly returns me to the login screen.
  • Device logs are empty so unable to troubleshoot anything.
  • NTP timezones are so incorrect it is impossible to apply the correct time.
  • Unable to enter any other NTP sources (e.g. uk.pool.ntp.org) without it erroring and crashing.
  • Devices randomly appear and disappear in the connected device list whilst still being connected to the router.

Are these known issues? If so, will they be fixed soon?

Or should I just replace the TT router with my trusty TPLink Archer?

Thanks @KeithFrench . I will give the Factory Reset a go.

I've now got my TPLink Archer running my internal LAN/WIFI behind the TT Router. My local connections are a lot more stable and I can see connected hosts, logs, etc.

Hi @Arfer

I have checked this today & all is working well:-

GMTGMT

I also tried it with the custom NTP servers, saved it & turned the router off & on again to ensure that it was using them:-

Custom NTPCustom NTP

The router has been perfectly stable since the change.

I can only suggest that your problem is caused either by using a Time Zone other than the default of GB, or your router needs a factory reset.

Hi @Arfer

Your time zone should be GB, that is what TalkTalk call it. Mine works fine on the default of GB:-

BSTBST

I will recheck it tomorrow to ensure it has gone back to GMT correctly. Then I will try using uk.pool.ntp.org. I'll get back to you after tomorrow's testing.

Let me test that over the weekend @Arfer. As to the timescale on the bugs, no, I have no visibility of that, as I am just a customer. When I get advised of new firmware, I thoroughly test it and also check back on all known bugs.

@KeithFrench Thanks for the reply. Do you have a timescale for a fix for the known bugs?

Here is a screenshot of the weird TimeZone issue:

Hi @Arfer @siphosethu-TT

To answer your questions:-

  • The DHCP Lease Table is not yet active.
  • Console randomly returns me to the login screen - known bug
  • Device logs are empty so unable to troubleshoot anything - known bug.
  • NTP timezones are so incorrect it is impossible to apply the correct time - never seen any problems if in the UK
  • Unable to enter any other NTP sources (e.g. uk.pool.ntp.org) without it erroring and crashing. - Untested, I will try over the weekend.
  • Devices randomly appear and disappear in the connected device list whilst still being connected to the router - known bug.

You are perfectly at liberty to use your own router if required, but I would keep the TalkTalk one as it might be required when testing your line, etc.
