I have received an email from Openreach telling me that ultrafast full fibre is now available where I live.  I therefore logged into my Talk Talk account with a view to upgrading, but full fibre is not being offered to me.  I tried the Uswitch website, where there were offers from BT and Plusnet.   I am mid-contract until September.   Why is Talk Talk not offering full fibre?  Will it be available soon?

We are working on making sure that all our customers can benefit on the full fibre plans, once it available we can then offer it to you. I understand that the wait can be frustrating sometimes.

Thanks for the response

I checked BT, Plusnet, Sky, Andrews & Arnold, Zen, EE all of which are offering full fibre already at my address.

So this time its not a case of one 'favoured' provider, more like one disfavoured provider!

Frustrating in the extreme.

Plenty of customers have Full Fibre with Talktalk, @hopingforfibre, but no - answers as previously in this thread.

Openreach has opened up "capacity". That's not the same as being available with all providers and usually one favoured ISP will have a monopoly on provision to start with. It's up to Openreach who they choose to do deals with.

So there's no average to give you for Talktalk to have provision to offer it, and it's never promoted ahead of availability.

Customers get pretty fed up when it's actually "available", ordered and the schedule for engineers is running behind so the dates get pushed back and pushed back.

You don't want that situation. Nobody at Talktalk will give you a date ahead of availability as some sort of surmise.

Same here.  Openreach notified me a couple of weeks ago that full fibre is now available and other Openreach resellers are  offering it at my address.    TalkTalk say they 'can't' but why not?  Nor will they give any indication of when.  If its just a couple of weeks then fine, but if its months or worse still I have to wait until the end of my current contract then not impressed.

Surely it must be known (a) what the hold up is and (b) roughly how long it will take to fix.  Its not like mine is the first exchange to be upgraded so there is surely an established sequence.

Has anyone been in a similar situation and then actually been able to go full fibre with TalkTalk, if so how long after it became available from other providers?

Mid contract, there's often a charge to change package,  @andyfel.

For existing customers, it's best to wait for them to offer you a free upgrade.

same problem here, BT EE customers are being offered upgrade....And i checked if my neighbour (same fibre connection box), would be accepted by Talk Talk (they currently aren't talk talk) and the talk talk website gives them the option to sign up!

Why can they and not me, annoyed if its not for existing customers

Openreach is just publicising the availability in your area but they will have deals with specific companies, not all, to start with.

You just have to wait till Talktalk has deals set up to offer you.

Usually there's just one supplier monopolising the service when it's first "available", @Zouch.
