On/off sporadically last night, slow this morning so turned off for 90 mins. Come back, powered up, slow flashing orange, to fast flashing orange but never turning white! Reset and still the same.
In the processes of getting totally pi***d off by ringing to speak to someone who I guess will go through the same old boring process hinting towards there being a fault my end, as the signal to the router is OK!
Would be great if someone can help out here before going home for the weekend!

it is the "changes of the equipment " as an engineer came and changed the router. Now I'll guide you through the checks - ensuring any damage or setup issues that could have caused the disconnection from the Internet are identified and resolved. Can you confirm what type of master socket you have please?

"As you've indicated changes or damage may have occurred we'll check this next." Where have I indicated damage?

I need to find out what type of master, or main, telephone socket you have so I can give the correct troubleshooting advice.

The master socket will be a white box on a wall, and is where the telephone line connects into your house from outside.

Please browse to https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Articles/Your-guide-to-main-phone-sockets/ta-p/2205432 - this page shows you images of the different socket types so you can identify which you have.

Can you confirm what type of master socket you have please?

A line test has not identified an issue outside your premises. As you've indicated changes or damage may have occurred we'll check this next.

I'll guide you through the checks - ensuring any damage or setup issues that could have caused the disconnection from the Internet are identified and resolved.

If these steps don't resolve the issue then I'll look at other potential causes.

Not sure as I don't have a phone connected.

Are you able to make and receive telephone calls on your TalkTalk telephone line?

Do you mean the software/firmware gets updated, this is the same old brick I've had for years! No active monitoring.

Router automatically gets updated; I have checked on my end and We've no reported issues/outage with Broadband right now, as you're experiencing an issue with your services, we need to run further checks.

Do you have any active monitoring for life threatening health reasons which is solely dependant upon your TalkTalk Broadband or Telephone line?

For example a care alarm, lifeline, health pendant or fall detector.

Isn't it time that this seven year old router was updated?

Orange and off. As much as I thank you for the reply, I have my doubts whether it will be fixed. It seems it isn't an isolated issue and others are also experiencing this.

Hi there @UITA23!, we are sorry for this, and I will look into it for you. Please confirm if your router is flashing orange and white or orange and off, thanks.

Turned router on after and after waiting for 15 mins there is alternating fast then slow orange flashing light! It does not go solid white.

Recap:
Engineer out this morning.
Old router recognised as faulty and replaced.
Speed tested as good.

TV and Firestick cannot connect.
Speed tested this evening as slow.
Turned off router for 30 mins (as previously suggested to do) and waited 15 mins when turned back on.
No solid white light
NO INTERNET AGAIN!

Update Monday evening:

Well should have kept my mouth shut! TV connected but couldn't play anything as it was so slow. The Firestick wouldn't even show my network but if I wanted to connect to the neighbours, no problem!

I've turned it off whilst I watch a show tethered to my phone and will turn back on in 30. Can anyone explain why I was getting good speeds this morning but either can't see the network on some devices or getting real slow speeds (tested on a variety of speed tests)?

Think it may be time to move on and go with sky, walls don't seem to be an issue for them!!

Engineer came this morning and did his thing, replaced the router and all was good. Fast (by copper standards) speeds in even the dead areas....just as it was!

Proof that it's nothing to do with the line into the home or the home set up, just a rubbish router. I think this is my fourth of this model now!
