Get expert support with your Fibre connection.

I have a fibre 65 contact and have been experiencing very slow connection speeds recently. I changed the Huawei 633 router supplied for this service for my previous Huawei 635 router and the speeds are now OK. The problem is that I cannot connect to the router settings via wifi using 162.168.1.1, I keep getting timeouts, can't get to the log in screen. Any suggestions how I can overcome this?

Hi Bill, thank you for your comment. 192.168.1.1 is the address written on the back of the router which I have had for some time and the one I was trying to access. Don't remember having ever changed it but not impossible.

Hi, @nambuso-TT
I think @Bobbywol already confirmed that he used 192.168.1.1 to login to the router, but mistyped, when he posted here.
What he wants to know, is if you know what the default web address is for that router.
Possibly he can check whether it's written on the router, or check on Huawei's website.
Even if he resets, the default web address won't necessarily be 192.168.1.1

Okay thanks for that. Please double check now that you are using 192.168.1.1 and confirm if you are still experiencing the same issue.

Hi Ferguson, thank you for your reply, I am using 192.168.1.1 it's just my lousy typing skills that get the better of me 🥺

No worries, have you tired the above steps?

Hi Andy, thank you for your reply, I have not tried a reset to defaults yet as everything is working fine apart from the ability to log in to the router.

Have you tried pressing the "pin hole reset" on the back of the HG635 ?
From memory it's "press and hold for around 10 seconds" then release and it should restore the router to Factory defaults.
To be honest if you ask one of the TalkTalk staff on here, as your router is old and not supported, I'm sure that they would swap it out for a newer Sagemcom model that is supported and updated.
