Huawei HG635 - Keeps on Resetting to Factory Defaults

Hi All,

I have a problem with my HG635 router in that it keeps on resetting itself to factory defaults, which is rather annoying as I have to reset its IP address, DHCP server & port forwarding due to the continual resets. I also don't use the Talk Talk Wifi as I have an EERO mesh system, along with a lot of home automation (such as a Hive Thermostat, Hue Lighting, Govee Lighting etc.)

The modem was looking a software image file at one point.

Anyone else had this issue and if so how did you fix it?

Hi Davemjames

Apologies for the delay.

I've ordered a replacement router for you now, please allow 24-48hrs for this to arrive.

Please let us know how you get on.

Thanks

Debbie

Ah OK I see. Well, I have asked them to replace it, they do not work at weekends, so it will still be Monday now.

From the 29th of March our TalkTalk Community will move to peer-to-peer support and the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. Don’t worry we still have plenty of ways to reach out if you need to speak to TalkTalk directly. For more details check out the link here How to contact TalkTalk Broadband - TalkTalk Help & Support

Hi Keith,

I only have FTTC (Fibre to the cabinet) not FTTP (Fibre to the property), still have to use the old copper wires to connect.

This does not make sense, if you have the Eero, just connect it to the Ethernet cable from the ONT, you don't need the HG635 at all.

Hi Keith,

I have to use the router, I just don't use the WiFi provision from it.

Thanks for asking a Tech Support to exchange my router. I think it's coming to the end of it's life.

Sorry, on re-reading your post, if you do not use this router, then surely it is simply a case of returning it.

You cannot update the firmware yourself. Your router is old, I will ask TalkTalk to replace it for you.

I have asked one of TalkTalk's support to pick your thread up and investigate it for you.

They aim to respond within 48 hours (Monday - Friday) excluding Bank Holidays, but if more urgent you can always try the Service Centre on 0345 172 0088. The posts are responded to in time/date order, oldest first.
