TalkTalk are installing broadband at my elderly (age 93) mother's house. Can you confirm whether they need access to the house? As my understanding was that they don't.

Please can you clarify? Thanks

Ok thanks, they still probably won't need access, the work will be carried out at the cabinet and the router will just need to be connected to the telephone socket when the service goes live.

Chris, She has never had broadband at all, and only has a standard telephone line into the house. Thanks

OK thanks. if she's upgrading to Fibre 35 from standard telephone/broadband (LLU) then it's usually just a switch over at the street cabinet, the engineer would generally only need access to the home if they find a fault during the installation process

Hi, She's getting Fibre 35 installed. I've already set up a POA on her account with TalkTalk.

Thanks

Hi petbax,

As Gliwmaeden2 has said, it depends really on the package and what is currently installed. Is it fibre that's being installed?

It's best to have someone in, on standby, as engineers may need access, and it depends precisely on the installation.

What package is being set up?

Please complete your own details in Personal Information in the profile area, and add hers in Private Notes, at the end of that section. Go via your avatar/name; settings; SAVE CHANGES.

You may need to set up PoA / authority to act if acting on her behalf, @petbax.
