I have entered the TalkTalk network and put in the password, I can watch the programs

I have already recorded, But all the programs now come up as No Data Available, I can't get any programs, The WiFi is connected But the Ethernet won't connect, the Ethernet cable is connected to the Freesat box, But the box is still trying to connect to the satalite dish although I have disconnected the cables, I do not understand why it won't work, it all worked fine on the old router, Why won't it work on this new one, it is all connected up exactly the same,  ???  fishfryer

Hi,

The internet should not affect the box ability to play satellite channels or your recordings.

I assume your freesat box has catchup app capability for iPlayer itvx etc. It is these apps that require the internet.

Did you previously have the box set up for both wifi and Ethernet connection? I just wonder if the box has a setting somewhere that uses either / or, not both, so that is why wifi works, but the Ethernet is not. How is ethernet connected? Direct to the router or via powerline plugs? If the latter are all lights on both plugs?

You need to have the satellite cable connected for the box to find the satellite and channels.

I suggest that you remove all cables and turn the box off at the mains and also remove powerlines if you use them.

Connect the satellite lead and turn the box on. This should enable the box to find channels.

Then insert the powerlines to the mains and wait for them to pair, then insert the Ethernet to the box. Hopefully this will then connect. You will probably find the box has already connected via Wi-Fi in the meantime.

Hopefully the apps will then connect.

If not then check your settings menu, to see if there is a setting that requires adjusting?

I'm not sure this is router related though, so you may need to seek help on a freesat forum if you can't get it to work.

Do you still have the old router to see it will connect correctly to the apps?

Let us know how you get on.

Hi

What device did you record your programs on ?

The freesat box does require connections to the dish and may need a connection to this to receive content.

I can see the LG TV connected to the router, and is this is playing back programs frm on demand services, then this has a good connection to the internet.

Thanks

Karl.
