I ran a line test today because some phone calls have have not rung and some that do get answered are of poor quality sound. The result of the test was a fault had been found. TalkTalk Ref: -15188560 I then ran the further test and the result stated we were unable to find a problem. What do I do now?

I have been using the test socket over the weekend and have received calls that have been expected. But I won't know for sure everything is O.K. unless someone lets us know they haven't been able to get through. Is it possible to do a line test now with only the microfilter and router connected? I am now disconnecting the phone.

Morning,

Ok. Would it be possible to keep the phone and router at the test socket for a few days just to see if the same fault re-occurs please?

Thanks

Michelle

Whilst in the test socket I have used the phone to call out and have received a call O.K.

But as the problem of receiving calls was intermittent I can't say definitely that all is O.K.

I am now connected to the test socket. But I am now confused because after I did the line test earlier I received an email and text message that the test had been completed. Yet when I tried to run the line test a second time the message said it was still being investigated.

OK, could you try connecting your telephone to the test socket and check to see if you experience the same issues - Your guide to main phone sockets - TalkTalk Help & Support

No. I have not been asked to do this.

Hi @Ganger

I'm sorry to hear this.

The line tests are detecting a loop fault and this fault is often caused by internal wiring or equipment connected to the line.

Can I just check, have you tested with the phone directly at the test socket?
