Router scorched by lightning

Hello -

My apartment block was hit by lightning over the weekend. It has damaged several appliances in my home and my TalkTalk router was scorched (leaving black marks on the wall it is propped up against). It does not seem to be functioning fine - however I am worried about future fire risk.

Could I possibly request a replacement be sent out please?

Any assistance appreciated.

Best wishes,

Ben

Thanks for the pointer to update the details @Divsec . Will do that now.

You are correct that the router appears to be working fine - though the scorch marks on the wall behind where it lives are surely not a good sign for its internal health or electrical / fire safety credentials.

Though I'm sure there is some poetry to be found in having survived a lightning strike only to die shortly after due to a malfunctioning router fire....

Hi @BenB123 your post has been escalated but your message isn't clear the router is working fine but you are worried lightning will strike twice? (Sorry, it's not funny)

I suggest you add your details to your community profile here https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/user/myprofilepage/tab/personal-profile:personalinfo and the team will check out the router from their end and advise.

I don't work here and all my opinions are my own.
