Unable to access sites via hyperlink on my work laptop

My work has been investigating this issue for weeks now and they have come to the conclusion that it’s likely to my router or Talktalk that is restricting access.  If I’m in the office hyperlinks work fine so it is a home issue.  I have checked kidsafe etc and they are all turned off.  What else can I try?

Hi, @Sjsainsbury591

Those 4 Teredo rules have been added automatically via UPnP

You've obviously have not added any rules yourself.

And it seems you don't know why those Teredo rules have been placed there.

I don't fully understand Teredo myself and avoid it.

If it was on my computer, I would delete them.

So, the thing is that you have not added any rules yourself.

As far as upgrading the router's firmware yourself (that @nomfezeko-TT referred to), that can't be done on these TalkTalk routers. Only TalkTalk can do that.

Here’s a more detailed explanation of how to perform each step:

-Access Router Settings:

  1. Open a web browser on your laptop.
  2. Type your router's IP address into the address bar. Common IP addresses are 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. If you're unsure, you can check the back of your router or refer to the user manual.

Log in with your username and password. If you haven't changed these, they may still be the default (often "admin" for both username and password). Look for a section labeled "Firewall" or "Security." Check if there are any settings that might be blocking access to certain websites.

Thank you, so this only happens on the laptop but operates perfectly fine with other devices?

Yes but only on my work laptop.  This issue started about 2 months ago and before that I was able to access them.

Thank you. Are you only having issues with hyperlinks?

Are you currently home where the TalkTalk services are installed?

Thanks for all that info but how do I actually do all that.  I obviously know how to turn off the router and restart it but the rest I am clueless about.

Thank you providing detailed information about the issue you're experiencing. I understand how frustrating it can be when you're unable to access certain hyperlinks at home, especially when everything works fine in the office.

Since your work has determined that the issue is likely related to your router or TalkTalk, here are a few additional steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:

- Sometimes, firewall settings on your router can restrict access to certain websites. Log into your router's settings and check if there are any firewall rules that might be blocking access, also consider changing your DNS settings to a public DNS service like Google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) or Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1). This can sometimes resolve access issues.

- Ensure that your router's firmware is up to date. An outdated firmware version can lead to connectivity issues. You can usually find the option to update the firmware in your router's settings.

- If you haven't already, performing a factory reset on your router can sometimes resolve persistent issues. Just be sure to note down your settings, as you'll need to reconfigure your network afterward.

If none of the above step's work, please do let us know so we can run diagnostics on your line and check for any restrictions or issues on our end.

My firm uses a security Mimecast which checks all links before opening but at home it just gets blocked, they say by my internet provider.
