If you have already switched, Talktalk's billing will be dated from the day you go live with Talktalk, and for a full month ahead, @Clap44 on a monthly "billing cycle".
How things are tidied up with BT is entirely up to BT, so you need to settle your final bill with them, as and when it comes in.
Did you use One Touch Switch to set this up, and specify that you wanted to keep the phone number?
