I'm about to go 'Live' with a Talk Talk Full fibre 150 plan in a couple of days. Alas Talk Talk cannot revive old copper landlines in my area as they are been phased out. The account/other person of my current provider is moving to another address so my old landline will be cut off tomorrow. I did ask Talk Talk about the possibility of a Voip alternative but was told it wasn't available..fibre Broadband only..no phone. I've recently read that Open Reach should be able to provide the Voip alternative (to the old copper landline) pretty much anywhere..or am i mistaken?. As someone of a certain age there are many advantages to having a landline/home phone and find it unusual that the choice isn't there in this modern day. Any good answers as to why Talk Talk aren't offering the Voip system to new customers greatly received.

Thanks for your response. It looks like if i require Voip at this address i'd have to look into a 3rd party provider. I'll possibly investigate further. Regards. Mark.

Hi Morganzola1
in order to request VOIP you will need to contact our loyalty team, as in order to add VOIP a change of package is required.
If that is not possible then the only alternative is to contact a 3rd party VOIP provider to use on the line.

Hi Michelle. Yes i spoke with the sales team direct amongst other departments..they just told me it wasn't available in my area but no real explanation why. I have no care alarm or any other hurdles like that. I just know my copper landline can't be re activated after being cut off from the other supplier today..and there is no possibility of Voip being an alternative from Talk Talk..although i hear if open reach are fitting the full fibre line..voip should not be a problem. Very odd mixed info.

Hi Michelle. Thanks for your response. Yes i spoke to someone quite high up in the end at sales team. Everyone i spoke to couldn't really give me a solid reason..words along the lines of i was in a ' no sell area..but this is for old school landline..not VoIP. So I'm struggling to undestand that with a fibre system being fitted by open reach tomorrow..I've been told no to voip. As to whether I'd have access to it in the future. Very vague. I was just informed I'd have to get by with my mobile and use WhatsApp. I have a few reasons why i d prefer an alternative to this at home but no choice at present and talk talk don't seem to have a solution.

Hello,
Can I just confirm, did you contact our Sales Team directly to see if VOIP was available for you? There are also certain situations were VOIP is not available at the moment, for example if you have a care alarm on the line. I'd recommend speaking to our Sales Team directly as they should be able to clarify if VOIP is available and if not why it's not at the moment.
Thanks
