After having endless problems trying to be upgraded to full fibre first of all being charged £2000 for installing fibre cables through our drive so that was a no no then another dept telling me that no I didnt have to pay TalkTalk paid Openreach so back to signing the upgrade then being cancelled again ,being told this time that no I wont be charged but nor will Talk Talk account the cost from Openreach. This is over a few months of endless phonecalls.Recently It was a suggestion that Fibre 65 would work.Still using the old wires from the house to cabinet then fibre connection. All done but the speed isnt what was what I was told nor on the contract info..Download speed averages about 31mbps and upload about 5.7mbps so quite disappointing.I cant justify paying £2000 for 10m's of narrow trench done by a machine to put a fibre cable then pay each month for using it.Anyone else in a simular position.

The test shows a  lower minimum guaranteed download speed of 38.1 and upload speed of 18.0mbps...My recorded upload speed is 2.63mbps and this is off peak...download 34.9mbps  ...10.30am.Without wasting any more time it still boils down to part fibre. The cables coming from the cabinet to the house are old..theyre never been upgraded in 30yrs maybe more. They are the old metal not copper wires.Unless I pay £2000 to have full fibre connection Im lumbered but getting enthusiastic over a guaranteed minimum speed before agreeing to a contract then not receiving this is disappointing. So I shall daily record speeds and keep a log and see after 30days what I will decided where Im going from there.

How are you measuring these speed tests, from wirelessly connected devices or wired (Ethernet) connected ones? Which make/model of router do you have?

Meaning so, you have checked your connection via MyConnection on your end and speeds showed that there is no decrease. Correct?

Hi @Prelude thank you for reaching out, and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you've experienced while trying to upgrade your services, I have checked on your account and I do see that you are on Fibre to the Cabinet 65(Fibre 65) and your speed are as followed:

Estimated Peak Throughput Speed (Mbps)
Highest Download  73.6

Lowest Download 49.9

Minimum Guaranteed Download 38.1

Highest Upload 18.00

Lowest Upload  12.6

if you are experiencing lower speed than this, we will need to run checks on your line.
