My telephone pole had FTTP installed several weeks ago. Openreach has shown FTTP available for my address for several weeks as well as BT and 3. I get mail from BT and 3 trying to get me to take up their FTTP. Talktalk however still only show FTTC available. How long does Talktalk take to catch up with FTTP installation?

Thanks

The situation can change quickly. Why not contact the Full Fibre team directly and see what they have to say. Details and opening hours can be found here:

Hello again

I hear what you say about a monopoly by Openreach/BT but one on my neighbours is having Sky FTTP installed tomorrow. I have run the FTTP checkers for both Sky and Plusnet and both are available to my address - it appears to be just TalkTalk who are not.

.

If a TalkTalk employee sees this perhaps they would like to comment.

Thanks

Until TalkTalk tells you they have been allowed to use the new fibre. TalkTalk will not know how long they have to wait; it is in the hands of Openreach.

Any idea how long the monopoly usually lasts?

Thanks

It takes as long as it takes for the companies to agree among themselves, @tonjac.

There is usually one monopoly for an initial period, which is possibly no bad thing for running in the system. You simply have to check Talktalk's postcode checker on their main site.

It's not ever announced ahead of actual availability.

This is outside of TalkTalk's control, I'm afraid. Openreach does not initially open up new fibre connections to most other ISPs. TalkTalk will most likely contact you when they are allowed to offer you service over this fibre.
