Had someone knock on my door saying BT have upgraded the cables in my area and if I get a new router i can get 150mbs instead of the 50mbs I'm getting at the moment.

They said I should talk talk should have been in touch about it ( they haven't) and it would be free of charge.

Any ideas what this is about, can't find any info on the talk talk site that confirms this is legit

"I am just saying, that is not an ideal link, because there is no mention of VOIP"

I disagree he wanted to know if full fibre 150 was available at his address that link provides that information he didn't mention  that he needed VOIP so the fact it doesn't provide that information is irrelevant but thanks for pointing it out in case any other potential customer does need that information  😉

@Anonymous

I am just saying, that is not an ideal link, because there is no mention of VOIP

Some people definitely wish to have a phone (VOIP), over their Full Fibre service.

Because customers can get VOIP, while ordering Full Fibre, but that link won't achieve it.

The original poster might have wanted a phone as well as Full Fibre.

Hi  @Billx

The original question was -

"Had someone knock on my door saying BT have upgraded the cables in my area and if I get a new router i can get 150mbs instead of the 50mbs I'm getting at the moment

They said talk talk should have been in touch about it ( they haven't) and it would be free of charge.

Any ideas what this is about, can't find any info on the talk talk site that confirms this is legit"

He said -  "I can't find any info on the talk talk site"  so i gave the link which should give him that information  😉

Hi, @Anonymous

That address you gave, TalkTalk | FTTP availability

offers only 'Data only' packages.

Some people also want VOIP, as well as Data.

Hi, @nambuso-TT,

That address you gave, https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Articles/Our-live-chat-team/ta-p/2230529

just redirects one to to the real address, https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Articles/How-to-contact-TalkTalk-Broadband/ta-p/2230529

Why don't you give out the real address?

@Joemo, it's Openreach that would be the relevant company that may be working in your area.

Talktalk may or may not have teamed up with them, which is what you'll find out by phoning in or using Live Chat for checking what's available.

If the people were from BT /EE they were trying to talk you into switching!

Gliwmaeden2, a fellow customer.

When i moved from FTTC to FTTP i used live online chat i prefer it to phone support as you get a copy  of the whole conversation sent by email at the end if you want it.
