The TalkTalk supplied eero 6 and eero Pro 6 are not intended for use with PoE. The devices have their own 5v power supplies. Eero Support recommend only the use of the supplied power unit.

As you've been advised, eero in the US and Canada do offer PoE devices for professional installers and a PoE + mesh extender to extend mesh coverage from an existing eero mesh network.  This eero 6 PoE device takes power at 48v and consumes 15w which is right at the top end of power available from a standard PoE injector. Personally, if I was in North America I'd use a PoE+ injector to ensure around 22w is available for peaks.

Or perhaps, in the UK, you're thinking of using a 5v adaptor to drop the voltage from a standard PoE injector or switch?

Whatever you're thinking of doing PoE is not recommended by eero Support.

Whilst Amazon aren't offering PoE devices to the UK I see that TP Link do have mesh devices working with PoE.

That is all I have to go on. The safest bet is to use their power adapters that come from TalkTalk with each Eero.

Hi Kieth I have already read that article

but it confused me even more. Is the eero 6 supplied by TalkTalk the same as Eero PoE 6

the article states

eero PoE 6 can be powered via PoE (802.3af) with a Cat5e cable.

searching Amazon for Eero PoE 6 gives no results.

I stand corrected, a simple Google search would have told you:-

As I said in my previous post, a wall socket is the only way.

Hi Kieth

still probably not clear.

I’m currently waiting Fibre 150 to be installed, (hopefully on the 5th) at the moment I have my router and two access points both powered from a switch over Ethernet. What I ask is if I were to get two additional errors would these accept power over Ethernet or would they need to be plugged into a wall socket.

TalkTalk provided you with a power adapter, using anything else will be contary to their conditions. That said, I have never seen any mention of powering one from a PoE switch.

Hi Kieth

i probably didn’t make my question clear I don’t want the eero to provide PoE power. The question is can a eero 6 be powered by a PoE switch or injector

I guess you could possibly go & buy an Eero PoE 6, but I have no idea how well this will work with TalkTalk supplied Eeros.

No, it can't provide PoE, you'll need a compatible switch for that.
