Hi everyone, hope you’re well. I want to extend the reach of my eero, can I simply buy another eero device and plug it in to a power socket? I don’t have any more telephone sockets.

Thank you for the support @KeithFrench

Hi Keith and thanks again for your help. I’ll take a picture when I get home but I’m reliably informed that the eero is plugged into a RJ45 socket. I’ll give the legacy people call - thanks for advice (hoping they don’t ask me if I want an eero 6 or a 7 :-(.
regards
andy

Yes, you can buy one & plug it into the mains only, no other cables needed. You might be able to get one cheaper by contacting the Better Value Team (old Legacy Dept), please call: 0345 1725157.
Opening hours:-
Monday to Friday 09:00 to 19:00
Saturday 09:00 to 18:00
Sunday Closed
I am sorry, but I do not know what you mean by the little hole in the wall - is it where a cable comes through from the fibre box outside to the ONT supplied by the Full Fibre installer? If you want advice on that, please can you supply a photograph of it?

Once again - please accept my apologies for any confusion. I don’t know the correct name for the little hole in the wall into which my eero device is plugged (not the power socket). It was not my intention to cause confusion. Notwithstanding the fact that I want to extend my network, and acknowledging that I know the Wi-Fi signal can be adversely affected by physical obstacles and other EMFs, I just want to know if I can buy another eero and simply plug it into any power socket (without any other connections) in order to extend my network. Just that. Can I buy another eero and connect it SOLELY to a power socket in order to extend my network coverage.
thank you in anticipation

Hi there @Andyf3, please take @KeithFrench advice as he's an expert when it comes to such cases. Thanks

Hi @Andyf3
My recommendations of where either eero (if you buy a second one) can not be located near could be confusing. It is not technical at all.

Not sure why you are mentioning phone sockets - Eeros are not used with a phone socket, and @KeithFrench is simply pointing out that how things are placed in a house can significantly affect wifi - not worth wasting money on extra eeros that might not actually be needed.

I access emails via an iPhone app. With greatest respect, please understand that I want to extend my network beyond the range of my eero, all the advice relating to positioning, blocking, obstacles and cupboards simply confuses me. I just wanted to know if another eero that is not connected to a phone socket would facilitate an extended range.

You are most welcome, in regard to emails going into junk folders please confirm how you are accessing your emails? Thanks

Please forgive the delayed response - only just realised emails were going into junk folder. Thanks very much for your help it’s most appreciated
kind regards

Hi @Andyf3
@siphosethu-TT has asked me to help you.
You do not need any telephone sockets, as you must be on Full Fibre for TalkTalk to have provided you with an eero. Yes, it can be as simple as you say, buy another & add it via the eero app.
However, there are a few things to consider:-
Before doing this, though, please make sure that your existing eero is in the ideal location in your property. It must be out in the open, not shut away in a cupboard. The location should be reasonably high and certainly never on the floor. Try to put it near the centre of your property.
It must not be near:-
To contact the Better Value Team (old Legacy Dept), please call: 0345 1725157.
Opening hours:-
Monday to Friday 09:00 to 19:00
Saturday 09:00 to 18:00
Sunday Closed
