How do I connect my hive hub to eero 6 via Ethernet cable my current set up has 2 ports which are being used for Wi-Fi  and phone. When the engineer fitted the system he did not seem to have a clue.

@Arwen

It will be best to start your own topic and then the support team can look into this for you.

I have same issue, i have even plugged hive hub directly to gateway Eero device, Hive is still not connecting to tge internet.  I have also tried a different ethernet cable to noavail. What else could I try?

Hi Kim,

I'm really sorry to hear this. Would you like us to try and send a WIFI Hub 2 router instead to replace the eero and the digital voice adapter? We just need to advise that although the Wifi Hub 2 will work fine on your connection, if you try to run a line or speed test via your My Connection it will report an error as it will think that the eero should be connected. This router will have more ports though.

Thanks

I’ve tried 2 network switches but neither have worked. As I say I’m looking to move when contract end as should not of been sold something which is not compatible with my hive etc.

Morning Kim,

Apologies for the delay. Just to confirm, your connection currently works but you need an extra port to connect another device?

If additional ports are required for your set up then we'd recommend looking into a network switch.  You would connect the switch to the eero and then anything else you need to connect wired would connect to the switch. Depending on the size of your switch, this could you give you anything between 4 and 100+ extra ports.

Thanks

Nothing has worked all I need is another Ethernet port on the eero.  To note the eero is connected to a grandstream box again this only has 2 Ethernet ports.   My contract is coming to an end shortly I will be considering changing suppliers to get this problem sorted as I was not made aware hive would not work on the eero system.

I have a mesh network of eero 6+ devices so I plug my Hive Hub into a spare port of one of the eero 6+ devices that connects by Wi-Fi backhaul to the gateway eero 6 device. But the eero 6+ device that connects my TV and media devices requires extra Ethernet connections. At that eero I use a 5 port Gigabit unmanaged network switch to connect Gigabit Ethernet to all the media boxes.

You can use a 5 port Gigabit unmanaged network switch at the eero 6 gateway router. Unplug the Digital Voice Adapter (DVA) and connect one of the 5 switch ports to the eero 6.  Plug the Digital Voice Adapter into another port leaving you with 3 spare ports and one of which will be for the Hive Hub.  The Hive Hub doesn't need the Gigabit speeds and neither does the DVA but it's not a significant cost difference upgrading and future proofing to Gigabit network speeds instead of specifying a Fast Ethernet switch. But it's your choice.
