Internet dropping-

Hi, I just migrated from Shell to yours (talk talk) now I am having consistent problems with the internet dropping of course i have looked at the advice or switching on and off and doing this throughout, it works for a little but then drops out again.  I still have a shell router connected to the old open-reach socket. I am an online teacher and depend on consistent wifi. No engineer came or a new box was sent out. It was done all over the phone. can someone please assist with this? Many thanks
