Hi
I’ve just applied to move from Virgin Media and currently I use my own router to do all the networking. I use an Archer AX72.
I wasn’t really thinking how this works with TalkTalk and now I’m a bit worried I’ve jumped the gun a bit too soon.
How will I get my router, or is it going to be a nightmare, working in this environment?

If you are switching to a Full Fibre service with TalkTalk then the installation will include an Optical Network Terminal (ONT) box where the fibre line enters your home. That will act much as a modem does and you should be able to connect to that from the WAN port on your router, although some tweaking of settings may be required.

Ah, so the environment is your set up in your house! 😊
Also, it looks like we're talking about FTTP here, so I'll move this to the Future Fibre board so people understand the context, @marsman802.

Thanks for the clean up - I wrote the post and then it made me sign in - didn’t spot it posted the first straightaway during sign up.
Let me explain a little better. Can I still use my router with TalkTalk? With Virgin you can put their router into “modem only” mode and then WAN connect it to any router (in this case centrally located in the centre of the house under the stairs). In my case it’s an Archer AX72 and it therefore does all the routing and addressing for all the switches hardwired around the house. I’m worried it isn’t possible to put the TalkTalk hub into modem only mode? Or am I meant to plug my router into the hub instead of the Eero Pro 6 that I think comes with my package?

Not sure what you mean by "this environment", @marsman802.
Your Talktalk router should be sent to you as a new customer.
