I've noticed that TalkTalk have recently updated some of their privacy and cookie policies.
However, one of their new important links does not work.
To go to the specific link:
To get to the link easily, one has to be logged into MyAccount.
From the main page of MyAccount, one needs to go to the bottom of the page, and click 'Cookies and our policy'
In the 'Cookies and our policy' page, it states: 'You can update your cookie preferences here'
If one clicks on this, the link is dead.
I hope TalkTalk can speedily fix this.

Hi Billx
Arne has reported the issue to the teams that look after this. They will schedule a fix in with their current workload. I cannot give any timescales at this time.
Thanks
Karl.

Hi
The original issue remains,
"From the main page of MyAccount, I go to the bottom of the page, and click 'Cookies and our policy'
In the 'Cookies and our policy' page, it states: 'You can update your cookie preferences here'
If one clicks on this, the link is dead."
I would be good to have this fixed.

My original question remains.
I've noticed that TalkTalk have recently updated some of their privacy and cookie policies.
However, one of their new important links does not work.
(Originally, @Divsec on on 31-08-2024, said the team will get this sorted on Monday, which would be on 02-09-2024
Then when I asked , if this might take 6 months, he says quite possibly.)
Is one of the teams going to deal with this or not?

What's up moderators? I now can't have a discussion about the internals of some of the software I and others use?
Put my writing back to where it belongs.

Oh, good idea, @Divsec

Quite possibly.
You could always clear your browser cache then try to login which would give you the accept cookies dialogue and then read the details there?

Do we have to wait for 6 months for this link to be corrected?

Hi @Billx another day, another answer, you are correct, no link attached to purported link.
The team will get this sorted on Monday, thanks for pointing it out and testing solutions.

I've tested it in Microsoft Edge, where there is no blocker.
The same thing happens.
What I noticed is that when you click 'Cookies and our policy',
it takes you out of 'https://service.talktalk.co.uk/dashboard'
and into 'https://www.talktalk.co.uk/legal/cookie-policy'.
But in this new page, I am no longer logged in.
In my mind, if one logs in to a website, one is logged in to every page of that website.
It seems, its not the case with TalkTalk.
I know that https://service.talktalk.co.uk might use a different server from https://www.talktalk.co.uk,
but one would assume that both are in the same website, talktalk.co.uk.
Therefore I should still be logged in.
(By the way, I did clear the cache.)
Very, very strange.
I repeated the procedure with Google Chrome, with the same results.
Are you sure you can 'update your cookie preferences here'
What can you see when you're there?
Thanks
Bill

Hi @Billx I wonder if you have the same issue with edge? Also could it just be as simple as cache flush.
I use a free dns adblocker with minimal issues.

Hi, @Divsec
I use Windows 10 and Google Chrome.
I do use a blocker, but it is currently switched off.
Maybe TalkTalk are angry, because I have used it before, I don't know.
I also recopied the link and then pasted it into a new email.
If there was a link, it would show in the new email.
What was pasted was just text.
This is amazing.
Thanks

Hi @Billx it's working for me in both chrome and Firefox on Android 13 tablet.
Which are you using?
