Hi ya i reported my Eero 6's for over heating and TT are now sending out a "WiFi hap3" plus a WiFi extender.
I Thought and understood the Eero 6 is the best on the market and its what TT have rolled out so why am i being sent a WiFi hap3" plus a WiFi extender as it seems that this is old fashioned or am i missing the point?
Thanks

No problem @Pash02, you can't just rely on what the label said on the back, as some older versions had the same. It was the hardware & software versions that were the clincher.
If you need any help, just let me know.

Hi Keith, thank you so much for this.
All the details match 🙂 and if i bothered to read the label on the back of the router before going off on one of my rants (Its a Pash thing) on it actually says WiFi hub 3
All i have to do now is remember the app i used to find the least used WiFi channel
You are invaluable and probably without you lots of people would have to call the help line Ekkk
Thanks again for all your help.:)

That's a Wi-Fi hub 3 which supports even FTTP customers. Thanks 😉

I can help you with everything, but first, there is a lot of confusion over what the WiFi Hub 3 looks like. It seems there have been a number of versions of this, probably from when it was on trial, etc. The case should be much thicker than the old one and stand up on its own, without any sloping bracket used with the Hubs 1 & 2.
Front view
The best way to ensure which hub you have is to note the hub password on the rear label and try & log in to it:-
Hub password
Now go to:-
Advanced Settings > My Router > Device Info
The Hardware version should show as: FAST5359 & the Software version: SGEK10004800. If it is, then this is the Hub 3.

Hi Ya I have just received my WiFi Hub 3 router and it looks the same as my old router before i went full fibre and received the Eero to replace the fully working old router.
Is this router a newer model and does this mean i can change the channels like i was able to do on my old router via a website and if so is there a link i can use for instructions?
Sorry to be a pain 🙂
Thanks

Great, let me know should you need anything. Guess I won't need to raise an escalation. Thanks

OK, I'm not sure what "the issue" was tbh, but I am glad it appears to be resolved nonetheless! 🙂
on 01-07-2025 03:40 PM
Hi ya i think the case has been resolved after an hour on the chat to them. Thanks though ❤️
on 01-07-2025 03:39 PM
The air temp when i tested them was 20.3c last month but the issue has now been resolved (hopefully)
on 01-07-2025 03:31 PM
Those temperatures aren't particularly hot for an eero, especially bearing in mind the current weather. You suggested through other comments that they are otherwise working fine?

Please bare with me while I see if there's something I can do for you, I'll get back to you soon. Thanks

Hi ya no they are over heating current temps are 34 and 34.2 c using a meal thermometer touching the base of each Eero for 30 seconds each.
When raised of the cupboard surfaces the temps after 5 days to cool down are 32.7 and 32.9c
External air temp is 20.3 c
Nosi the lady from tech support confirmed with her line manager( i think it was) that they are faulty.
Currently doing an online chat and been transferred to complaints arrgggg

Please confirm as I see a note stating the Eero was damaged, was it physical damage? I'm asking this because if the Eero had physical damage that would make the router chargeable. Thanks

The WiFi Booster - Sagemcom FAST266 is not old tech at all. It combines with the Hub 3 to provide a Wi-Fi 6 mesh network, just like the eero 6 it is replacing in your situation. I can provide full tech support on both products.
The information below is provided by TalkTalk. For confirmation, please contact @Lorrainef, the manager of the TalkTalk support staff on this forum.
KeithFrench is one of our valued Community Stars and can help with a range of issues related to wireless and networking. If you need further help or if we need to take any details such as personal information about your account, like phone numbers, account numbers, etc, one of the TalkTalk team will jump in and help out.

Hi
Thank you for putting my mind at rest. ❤️
Isn't the WiFi Extender old Tech now?
My son works from home and has ten million online meetings a day plus his X box and whatever else he has running all at the same time sometimes including streaming films.
Thanks again

You shouldn't have to worry about it as everything should work as normal. Thanks 😉

Hi there @Pash02, please note that the Wi-Fi hub 3 is our new router which is also compatible even for FTTP customers. This new router will be replacing Eero's, as it's more updated. Thanks
