Wireless after fibre upgrade cannot connect to the laptops

Hi @KeithFrench
Following up on the WIFI issues and all the information I gave on the previous chat.
We have a WIFI connection problem.
The laptops especially do not connect at all to the WIFI. The mobile phones and TV are fine , the tablet is dropping out but the laptops do not connect with WIFI. I have to use an ethernet cable which works fine. Upgrade to full fibre on the 12th of March. The problem appeared and got worse the last 3 days.
Proximity to the router does not seem to be relevant.
Thank you

Sorry, @fskaramagkas I did manage to look at it and there was no WiFi interference that would prevent the laptop from connecting to your WiFi. I thought I had posted a reply, but I couldn't have. I have been very busy with another complex issue for another customer. However, this is what I meant to send you:-
Please wait just over three hours since your last connection attempt failed and then can you launch a Command Prompt as an administrator? Then issue the command below and press the Enter key:-
Netsh wlan show wlanreport
It creates a report & saves it to the HTML file:-
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WlanReport\wlan-report-latest.html
In addition to the HTML file listed above, a CAB file, as well as an XML file, will be in the same folder. Please, can you zip them up with 7-Zip and set a password? As soon as I have them, I will delete them from your post.

Do not put the password in your post, anyone the world over can read that. I have therefore removed the password from your post. I will do hopefully download the file later.

Hi @KeithFrench,
I changed the format to zip instead of 7z. See if it works now.

Hi @KeithFrench
I get the message the file is not an acceptable type. I removed the extension , chahnged it for .7z to .zip it says the content type does not match the extension. We can leave it a bit until you have more time.

Hi @KeithFrench ,
Sorry about the delay. I do not think you have sent me the guide about identifying the WIFI problem.
Thank you

That's fine @fskaramagkas , please do it ideally where the laptops are & also, if different, where the tablet is.

No @fskaramagkas don't bother with the HG633; that is a very old specification now.
Do not worry about interpreting the results; I will do that for you. I will send a PM to that contains a link for a guide of mine on Wi-Fi interference. It is quite long (about 30 pages), but you will probably only need to look at three or four pages in total. Initially, look at the section called "Are you suffering from interference – prove it first". This is the first link in the table of contents. This section includes full details of free Wi-Fi analysers that I recommend for Windows, Windows phone, Android and Apple operating systems. However, I have no way of testing the Apple product. Select the analyser of your choice & my guide explains how to use it.
If you are using Wi-Fi Scanner, then please attach the zip file to this thread. As soon as I have downloaded it, I will remove the attachment from your post to preserve your privacy.
With all other analysers, please follow my instructions below.
Collect the screenshots that I require and include them in your reply.
Please post the screenshots to me in a PM (to protect your privacy), which I have requested in my guide. No photos, please, as they can be difficult to read, because the text can get out of focus when zoomed in. Please ensure that the analyser window is maximised (if Windows) before taking the screenshots & upload them via the "Insert Photos" button (in a mobile browser it's the picture icon) on the post editor's toolbar with the Size parameter set to Large.

Yes please , I would like the guide.
I also have the old router which did not have problems like that at all. A Huawei HG633. I could try that but it does not have any VOIP.

There could be two WiFi issues here:-
- The laptops not connecting
- WiFi reception issues.
Since you mention a tablet is dropping out, then I think the latter is the possible cause, as the signal might also be too poor for the laptops.
Slow speed, intermittent dropouts, breaks in the signal or no signal on some or all devices or no internet access might be caused by Wi-Fi interference from other local networks, which can also lead to a permanent reduction in speed. No ISP can be responsible for your local environment, this is mainly a byproduct of the popularity of Wi-Fi.
Generally speaking, the 2.4GHz band suffers a lot more from interference than the much faster 5GHz band, but the 2.4GHz one can sometimes have a better range, but this all depends on your local area.
In other words, I will try to help you optimise your Wi-Fi connection. The next stage involves sending out a guide to help you get me some important diagnostic results so that I can analyse them for you and recommend changes to your router configuration to solve them.
I only send this out to people who request it.
