Hello - the copper line at home here was removed last week and replaced by the FTTP connection by OpenReach. No-one has made provision for connecting the existing landline to this digital set-up. The BT engineer could not tell me what I should do to resolve this and there is only an Ethernet connector socket on the new Eero box. How can the landline be re-connected as it is out of use at the present time? Why are TalkTalk so difficult to contact about these sort of issues anyway?

Hi Stargazer66
VOIP cannot be added to a data only order, you will need to call and speak to the loyalty team again.

Landlines were always a feature of packages in the past as they were part and parcel of the copper network. With Full Fibre you need to opt in to a VoIP service if you want one.

Hello Keith - yes, this sunk in eventually. It looks like my new contract package is for Fibre 150 Data Only - so this did not come with a DVA option at the time. However, I am looking to also include the landline once more, as it was part of my previous Fibre65 package upuntil last week and the landline has been a long-standing feature of all the TT packages I have had since around 2009 or so.
Thanks and regards,

Hi @Stargazer66
Please note the spelling mistake on my part, it is a Grandstream box, not a Grandstrea!!

Yes - thanks. It looks like that is the problem at the present time. I didn't receive a Voice Adapter with the eero box last week, so it's the fact that the DVA is missing which is holding me back. I'll try to get the account package details sorted out then.

You need to specifically ask if you wish to continue with a VoIP service when you switch to Full Fibre. I am not sure how this can be managed now, but the support team can hopefully advise when they pick this up next week.

Hello - thanks for the information Keith which is useful. I have also just noticed within my account that the package is now described as "Fibre 150 Data Only" which suggests that they have cut my landline feature out of the new package? I didn't ask them to do that and wanted the landline to still be operational on the new system. Perhaps this is why I only received the eero router box on its own last week?

You should have been provided with the Grandstrea, DVA which goes between your phone & the router. I have asked one of TalkTalk's support to pick your thread up and check if one was ordered for you.
They aim to respond within 48 hours (Monday - Friday) excluding Bank Holidays, but if more urgent you can always try the Service Centre on 0345 172 0088. The posts are responded to in time/date order, oldest first.
To save yourself time, please make sure that your community profile includes your first & last names, broadband phone number & if possible an alternative contact number. This can be done by clicking on your Avatar picture and then clicking on "My Settings" followed by:-
Personal Profile > Personal Information
Otherwise, TalkTalk will not be able to tie up your forum username to your broadband account. Only you & TalkTalk have visibility of your details.
