Digital Voice changeover with linked care alarm

I’ve not been notified yet of a changeover to digital voice but I have a linked care alarm package that is plugged into my landline. I’ve contacted the care alarm company about the changeover but they want another £90 to provide new technology (already paid them £250 for annual subscription!) How long can I stay as I am without changing over to Digital?

Aye, I understand and I don't blame you. But it still seems poor. I mean these so-called "care" companies have had as much notice as the rest of us that the base technology is soon to change.

Yes, looking into alternative companies who offer the same service at the moment but the longer that I can stay as I am the better!

Less good to know that there are sharks out there preying on vulnerable captive customers. Are they really going to be charging you more to upgrade their own kit once it becomes redundant?

Thanks Arne, that’s good to know and for peace of mind

Hi JohnJo57

There is nothing on your account advising that the full fibre upgrade is going ahead or is required, when the copper service is being stopped (there is no set date for that as yet) we will give you as much notice as you need so we can find a workaround for the care alarm.

So for now nothing is changing,

Hi @JohnJo57 quite a while is the best answer without knowing the first part of your postcode.

The changeover is so piecemeal it's really difficult to be specific.

I certainly wouldn't be paying anyone anything at this moment in time.

your post has been escalated and you should hear soon.  In the meantime please check your community profile and add your landline number and/or account number so your account can be identified. Please don't post personal information here.

I don't work here and all my opinions are my own.
