My home phone isn’t working it rings in and out but the line is dead 

it has been switched off for 2 weeks while I was away can anyone advise please

Hi there @Welshy1, thank you for reaching out to us regarding your home phone issue. I understand how frustrating it can be when your phone isn't working properly. Before we can look further into this, kindly try these troubleshooting steps:

 

Ensure that all cables are securely connected. This includes the phone line to the wall socket and the phone itself. If possible, try connecting a different phone to the same line. This will help determine if the issue is with the phone or the line itself. If you have a modem or any other equipment connected to your phone line, try unplugging it for a few minutes and then plugging it back in. If the problem persists after trying these steps, please do let us know and we will investigate the issue further for you.

Have you tried connecting at the test socket?

 

Subject to that, if you would like the support team to look into this for you make sure that your personal details including TalkTalk phone number or account number are complete on your community profile (click here) so that they can link your forum identity with your account and then wait for them to respond.
