Landline Not Ringing

I appear to have a fault with my landline. The phone does not ring when there is an incoming call.

There is a ringtone and I can dial out normally. My broadband is also working.

I have tried a second phone that I plugged into the master socket but this also had the same problem in that it did not ring when there was an incoming call.

Thanks for any help or advice you can offer.

Hi

The next step is to book an engineer.

Can you please confirm you accept the BT Openreach TRC's.

Also, please provide a couple of days you can be available for the engineer visit, Mon - Fri AM (8-1) or PM (1-6).

Thanks

Karl.

Hello Michelle,

As advised, I have tried plugging in a phone into the master socket with and without a microfilter. I have also tried a second phone but still have the same fault (landline not ringing for incoming calls).

Thanks

Morning,

Thanks for trying this. Did you try connecting just the phone at the test socket both with and without a microfilter? Do you also have an alternative handset that you could try just to rule this out?

Thanks

Michelle

Thank you for your reply Michelle. I do have a test socket (as shown in the picture).

I have plugged a corded phone into the test socket and unplugged other phones but I still have the same problem (i.e. phone not ringing for incoming calls).

There is a normal dial tone and I am able to make external calls.

Good morning,

I'm sorry to hear this. I've run a test on the line which is clear. Does your main socket have a test socket please?

Thanks

Michelle
