I've been without a home telephone for a week now and no one is giving me a clue as to when you're going to fix the issue, your fixit speak to an agent doesn't work, just like my phone doesn't so that's not an option I can use.
I have no dial tone and its not possible to make or receive any phone calls either, I had this same problem less than 3 months ago and it was fixed within a couple of days, why is it taking so long this time?.
I've left you my reference number just in case you might be able to get the tech people to look into it further and fix it for me.
Fault reference number
REP-13125456

Hi.
This Secure Verification identity thing in your recent PM, do you want my talktalk password or the password I'm using for this community questions and answers thing.
One other thing, are spaces counted as a character? and if not, do I use the next letter, yes, or no.
Its wonderful to be as thick as a brick you know, you do get to learn a bit here and there.
Update
I've used the password I use for this community thing, it seems to have accepted it.
What now then as I don't know anything about this messaging stuff.

Hi Molar
Thank you. The same fault has been detected on the line tests.
If the landline fault (no dial tone) is still present with a different phone at the test socket then the next step will be an Openreach engineer visit.
I'm just sending you a Private Message to confirm some details so we can arrange this visit.
Thanks again.

I'll do that in a minute, the phone will be in the test socket from 10.25 am until 11.00 am.

HI Molar
Would it be ok to connect the phone at test socket for 15 minutes just whilst I run one more line test?
on 11-07-2023 10:08 AM
Hi.
No it isn't, if I just had the phone in the test socket I wouldn't have any internet access, could I plug the phone and the internet into the test socket at the same time without it causing any problems?.
on 11-07-2023 06:52 AM
Hi Molar
Thanks for confirming this.
The line test is detecting a loop fault and this can often be caused by internal wiring or equipment connected to the line.
Is the phone at the test socket at the moment?
on 10-07-2023 03:45 PM
Hi.
Yep, I've just done that and tried it with a brand new phone as well, its still not working, internet is working perfectly if that helps you.

Hi Molar,
Thanks for updating your profile. Could I just ask, have you tried connecting your telephone to your test socket? Your guide to main phone sockets - TalkTalk Help & Support
