Landline not Working.

This morning I found the landline is not working. When I pick up the handset there is a continuous tone and cannot dial a number. The green light on the router flashes red from time to time.

I turned off the router and unplugged the white box with 3 green lights (cannot remember what it is called and left it for 30 minutes. Plugged it back in and waited for the green lights, turned router back on and allowed it to connect. Did not solve the problem. Tried again, still not working.

Internet connection OK.

We're aware some customers may be experiencing issues making or receiving calls with their digital voice service (VoIP).

Some customers may have received an automated SMS advising this has been resolved, this is still ongoing and we're sorry for any confusion caused.

Our engineers are working to get this issue resolved as quickly as possible. We're sorry for the inconvenience this is causing.

Please check back here for updates. We are working on this as a priority.

This problem has been on-going for (at least) 3 days.

Apparently its a CityFibre fault being 'looked into'. Guess Bank Holidays don't help.

Presumably many people are missing calls, so its far from ideal.

Hello there @Antoni2, thank you for making us aware of this matter. Just to double check, are you still unable to make outgoing calls from your landline?

I have the same problem. It looks like you noticed the problem this morning? But its not yet resolved ?

I think its unacceptable to be without a landline for so long. For example we're waiting for calls from the hospital.

Hi,

You are not alone. There is an issue which is showing on the service dashboard here

https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Service-Status-Dashboard/bd-p/service

I suggest you keep an eye on this for a resolution.

Hope it's not too long to resolve.
