Good morning, my landline has developed a problem, it has a lot of background noise and is difficult to hear someone talking, they also can't hear me very well as voices fade in and out. Could someone please run some checks on my line to see what the problem is. Thank you.

A line test is currently underway. This checks the equipment used to provide the broadband service to your home - including the exchange, cabinet and line equipment.
This can take up to 8 minutes to complete. I'll let you know if this test finds a fault, otherwise I'll continue with further checks.

Yes, I've just made a quick call to see if the problem is is still as bad, and it is. I can make and receive calls but it's really difficult to hear the other person due to the noise on the line.

Mostly it's the landline problem, though sometimes i have restart the router I've had it a long time, it's a HG633 i don't think the firmware is up to date.
