Hi, really hoping someone here can help. I upgraded to full fibre in May with VOIp & asked for my 40 year old landline number to be ported. There was a series of epic failures including two months with no wifi or landline. Talktalk failed to port my phone number successfully when WiFi fixed & suggested the only solution was to return temporarily to a copper line with the old number then port it. The old number was worker until they disconnected it in August without telling me or porting it. I am now left with a VOIP phone number I don’t want & lost my old number which shows as disconnected. I have complained for past two months (and since upgrade) I was promised in June the old number would be ported by exec in complaints team. They are now saying it is impossible to port the old number as it can only be ported when full fibre set up? Any suggestions? I am worried the old phone number will soon be returned to BT. But it verifies various accounts. And for some old friends it is the only phone number they still know off by heart… thanks any help appreciated

I have never come across this before, usually once a number is gone, it's gone. Perhaps you could cast your net wider across other possible areas where some may have experienced this?

Ferguson, thx for taking time to reply, I realise this is community hub. But I am just trying to find out if anyone has managed to port number after full fibre set up? As I am getting conflicting advise from complaints team..

If you are already dealing with the complaints team and have somebody on the case then I am afraid there is little more that can be done by posting on here.
