Hi.
Can somebody please confirm that I have the digital phone service activated on my account?
I still have my DECT base unit plugged into the old BT type wall socket (via an adapter), and though it works, the line is often very crackly. I've reported the fault a few months ago and was told a piece of equipment would be sent to me in the post, but it never arrived.
I've tried several times to plug the DECT phone directly into the green phone socket of my Wi-Fi Hub, but it's completely dead. The lights on the ONT box are all green and the light on the front of the hub is solid white.
I'd be very grateful if somebody could check and let me know if the digital voice service is activated. If it is, why won't it work, and if it isn't, how do I go about having it activated?
Thanks in advance.

There is a £2.00 monthly charge for the VOIP facility now - that's before making any calls at all. The calls are then charged at the usual 24p per minute to ordinary landline numbers etc, or you can add boosts in the same way as for the copper landline in the past.

I suggest that you use the contact details provided by @Gliwmaeden2 and contact the full fibre team to get accurate information.

Thanks Philile.
I'm just wondering why this wasn't flagged up to me when I renewed my contract (which was fairly recently), especially if the BT socket will, presumably, soon stop functioning at all?
Will it cost me more money to have the VOIP service activated?

Hi. Thanks so much for responding.
To be honest, I didn't have any idea about 'leave hind'. I just thought I'd signed up for full fibre and that the digital voice would automatically be included. As it never worked, I've just continued with the crackly old line.
Given what you've said about the BT socket stopping functioning, I'm wondering why TalkTalk don't activate the digital voice service automatically. It seems a bit illogical!
Anyways, thanks very much for pointing me in the right direction! I'll brace myself to contact them.

@JJ1950 you are currently using data only plan for full fibre and the line us on cooper leave behind it is not VOIP (digital).

Did you have the copper landline "leave behind" set up to start with, @JJ1950?
That's what sometimes used to be done when VOIP wasn't available with some of the earlier full fibre packages.
To set up with VOIP, digital voice must be ordered specifically at the time you ordered a full fibre service. The package may need to be set up afresh.
As this is part of your Full Fibre service, you need to speak directly to that team via Chat or on 03451 720074, after 9am tomorrow.
Digital Voice definitely doesn't come via your old BT master socket, which will stop functioning altogether.
