Hi,

I have the old Dn372T just about hanging in there. Sad to see Netflix disappear so bought a Firestick. Clever piece of kit and apps are instant.

Here’s my question. If I have the Youview box on one HDMI and the firestick on the other HDMI why would I start getting YVM607 all of a sudden. How can this new protected content be hitting my youview box. It’s just going to the telly isn’t it?

thanks for any help

Richard

Hi

Do you have another TV in the house you could test the 2 devices with ?

Thanks but not sure 4k had been invented when I got my Panasonic TX-43FS352B!

Hi

It is a strange issue, if it is not happening with the Firestick unplugged, then we can only conclude that this is in someway causing the issue, maybe by telling the TV to expect 4K content and the TV is then expecting this from the youview box etc.

Thanks guys but changing input port to tv is still causing the problem. I just don’t know how the TT box can be receiving 4K content from the Firestick to still create this error.

Hi

varies between TV's, but any settings that apply to the port either Arc or CeC , just try toggling off and see if it changes anything.

That’s todays strategy. Different tv hdmi ports. (Thank god I only have 2!)  I’ll report back.
What kind of hdmi settings might I be looking for on the tv @Karl-TalkTalk?

@richardlister what happens if you disconnect the firestick? Does the box no longer have an issue?

Have you tried swapping the firestick to the YouView port and vice versa?

Hi

Optical out should not affect the HDMI connections, and unless there is a fault with the HDMI ports, I dont think the fire stick should affect the youview box, but you could try changing any HDMI settings for the port the youview box is connected up to , and see if that changes anything.

Thanks

Karl.

thanks from prompt reply.
I wondered that. I even swapped hdmi cables. It’s as if the Firestick is sending stuff to tv and the tv is sending it back out to the Youview box? Is that possible? I do get a bit confused with arc, cec pass through etc etc.

Is it worth adding I have a Bluetooth speaker with an optical cable from the tv?

Hi

As fr8ys mentions, always a good idea to recheck all connections are seated correctly 🙂

It shouldn't.

It's usually HDMI related, so did you perhaps dislodge the cable when fitting the fire stick?
