Hi

Hope somebody can help. Karl has always been a big help in the past, but if I'm right the TalkTalk team can't now help users as previously on this channel. If so, big black mark as far as I'm concerned.

Anyway, am having new TV (Sony smart TV) installed tomorrow. Will I need to do any particular activation with my existing Netgem 4K TV box or is it just plug and play? Do I need to input some sort of activation code and if so, where do I get it from?

Stupid question I'm sure but thought I'd check in advance.

Also, what will help with my existing app subscriptions like TNT Sports and Now Sports. Will I need to re-input passwords etc. I presume these will be pre-loaded as currently on the box. I also think the Sony will have the HBO Max app pre-loaded (for TNT Sports).

Grateful for any help,

thanks Ben

Cool. We know what you prefer!  😎

From the 29th of March our TalkTalk Community will move to peer-to-peer support and the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. Don’t worry we still have plenty of ways to reach out if you need to speak to TalkTalk directly. For more details check out the link here: How to contact TalkTalk Broadband - Help & Support.

Much what you advised @ferguson

The box will continue to work as is. No changes necessary.

Not sure if Sony needs to install the box. Some like LG do.

plus in response to a query regarding the 4k v hub, I responded

Re the TV Hub that doesn't record

Personally I prefer the Manhattan T4R Freeview box that records 2 at once. You then save the TalkTalk TV charge by getting that removed from your account, so it pays for itself.

Switching the box should be just plug and play i.e. remove from the old TV and connect to new one!  🙂

Hi @BenWarwick

The TalkTalk Community has now moved to a peer-to-peer support model. This means that the TalkTalk team will no longer be here to support with queries. For TV-related enquiries, @fr8ys is your man.
