trying to tune in channels but so far on 5 have been selected, despite contacting Talktalk yesterday by text for over 40 mins still no success

Do you get all channels if you take the aerial out of the box and plug it into the TV?

 

I assume you have got the aerial (a terrestrial freeview one) plugged into the box? Hopefully a silly question!

 

If so go to settings, home button then up arrow and select the cog wheel, and try a factory reset which will reset the box and download the software again.
