CANCELLING MY ACCOUNT

Cancelling my account at TALKTALK has been a nightmare. I tried to cancel it weeks ago after getting another system. Yet I keep getting letters demanding payment for a service I am not using. They say that there is a legal requirement for me to discuss with them the reasons for leaving, but have not provided the legal references when asked. In addition they have said that they will close the account on 10th August which means that they will charge me for many more months of non supply. I can change my bank account with no problem by asking another bank to transfer my account to them. If a bank can do it with my money why cant TALKTALK close my account when asked without all the poxy demands for money and threatening letters claiming (spurious?) legal requirements?

@Jerry77, I'll move this to billing so that it can be addressed by staff.

 

You need to be more precise about the details  - did you phone in and exactly when?

 

 Talktalk requires 30 days' notice and the billing cycle means that you also pay a full month ahead. The subsequent bill after closure will refund all unused days, which you need to claim back via My Account. 

 

Very important that you add your Talktalk landline number  / account number in Personal Information. Go via your avatar/name; settings. After entering details,  SAVE CHANGES.
